On the day of our visit, the community had just completed the harvest from a farm where they practised **Jhum cultivation**, a traditional form of shifting agriculture. To celebrate the harvest, the owner of the farmland had arranged a feast for the people living in the surrounding mountain region. We had the wonderful opportunity to attend this special gathering, share food, and spend an entire day living among the local people, experiencing their culture, traditions, and everyday lifestyle. After spending a memorable night with them, we returned the following day. We usually learn about Jhum cultivation only through books, but in this video, I have documented it in detail by visiting the community and witnessing their traditional way of life firsthand. *For the first time in Tamil, this video offers a detailed look at Jhum cultivation and the lives of the tribal people who continue to practise this traditional agricultural system.* This documentary will be particularly useful for agriculture students, history enthusiasts, researchers, and anyone interested in traditional farming methods, indigenous knowledge, tribal cultures, and rural lifestyles.
