🕯️ Some prayers are born in the dark, where only stone walls hear you — and somehow, that's exactly where God meets you.
Out of the cave
dust on the wings
no one at your right hand
but You
There are seasons when the cave finds you. Not a cave you chose — a cave of exhaustion, betrayal, isolation. The kind where the silence gets heavy and you start to wonder if anyone even knows you're in here. This song lives in that space. It's for the moments when you've looked around and realized the people you counted on aren't there, when the traps others set have left you stumbling, when your spirit is doing that slow fade that's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't felt it. But it's also a song of movement — because the cave is not the end of the story. You were made for the light, and something in you still knows how to cry out 🕊️
🎵 Featured lyric:
"No refuge is left in the kingdom of men
So out of the cave, I will trust You again
My portion, my strength in the land of the breath
Deliver my soul from the shadow of death"
🪨 Even when every human shelter has failed, God remains the rock in the wild
🙌 Crying out is not weakness — it's the bravest thing a fading spirit can do
🌅 Praise is the destination, but trust is what carries you through the dark to get there
Psalm 142 was written by David while hiding in a cave — literally. Saul was hunting him. His men were few. His options were narrowing. And in that desperate place, he didn't write a theological treatise. He poured it out. He told God exactly how it felt — the loneliness, the fear, the sense that no one cared whether he lived or died. And then, from the bottom of that pit, something shifted. Not his circumstances. His orientation. He turned toward God as refuge, as portion, as the reason to keep breathing. The cave didn't disappear. But it stopped being a tomb and started being a threshold 🌿
📖 Psalm 142:4-7
"Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life. I cry to you, Lord; I say, 'You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.' Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name."
