Selected extracts from the online panel discussion of 23 Sep 2026 at GI4QC Forum on the topic "Mathematical & Scientific Foundations of Bharatiya ways of time keeping" hosted by Anand Prakash - Director, GI4QC Forum In the previous episode of this series titled “Many calendars, One Cosmos: Bharatiya ways of time keeping” we noted that various communities followed their own system of time keeping due to their own historical reasons. Thereafter we briefly touched upon ancient Indic system of time keeping. In this episode we dive deeper into the Bharatiya way of time keeping with Dr. Rakhi Khandelwal and understand the math and science behind this system. The invited panelists for this webinar was Dr. Rakhi Khandelwal: She is an accomplished academic with 20+ years of teaching and 15 years of research experience. Her expertise includes corrosion science, materials chemistry, green chemistry, and nanomaterials. She has 18 research papers, four books, and has received the Best Paper Award at ICCM 2024 and ICS Fellowship. She has served in key roles including Chief Warden, TEQIP-III Coordinator, and Head of Chemistry.
