Cockpit view may be the most realistic camera in sim racing—but is it the best choice when you are racing on a single screen? In this video, I compare cockpit, hood, roof and T-Cam views across F1, RENNSPORT, Assetto Corsa Competizione, EA Sports WRC and Project Motor Racing. I play on PS5 with a controller and a single screen, so I do not have the added peripheral vision of triple monitors. Because of that, I prioritize competitiveness over total immersion. For me, the right camera needs to provide: • A clear view of the apex • Better visibility through fast corners • A strong sense of speed • Reliable car-positioning references • A consistent perspective across different games Cockpit view gives you realism, but the dashboard, steering wheel, roof and windshield pillars can take up a large portion of the screen. Hood, roof and T-Cam views remove those obstructions and allow you to see more of the road ahead. The goal is not to find one camera that is perfect for everyone. It is to find the view that works best for your equipment, driving style and priorities. Which camera do you use: cockpit, hood, roof or T-Cam? #SimRacing #F126 #PS5 #Rennsport #AssettoCorsaCompetizione #ProjectMotorRacing #EASportsWRC #ControllerRacing 00:41 - Immersion vs. Competitiveness 01:50 - The problem with cockpit camera 03:15 - Why your platform matters? 04:20 - Why TV Pod? 06:11 - Translation to other games 07:40 - Why consistency matters 08:53 - The sense of speed 09:50 - Around other cars 10:54 - The tradeoffs 11:46 - Conclusion
