SHOPPING MY SHELVES 📚 Building My Late September + October TBR 🍂

I’m shopping my own bookshelves to build my late September + October TBR 📚🍂 I have WAY too many books sitting on my shelves that I bought, was excited about, and then somehow never got around to reading. So this time, I’m going shelf by shelf and choosing the books that are actually making it onto my upcoming reading list. And yes, some books are getting rehomed (if i don't enjoy the read) because I simply cannot keep letting my physical TBR grow 😭 There are also a few books making their way back into consideration after I’ve already tried them once, some books I’ve been meaning to read FOREVER, and a few reads that are going to push me outside of my normal reading comfort zone. First up is KINDRED by Octavia E. Butler, which I have officially started and am FLYING through. I’m already really enjoying it, and honestly… Octavia E. Butler was just ahead of her time. Then there’s MEET ME IN THE GARDEN by Niona Lacour, which has been sitting on my TBR long enough that I’m starting to take it personally 😂. It’s time to decide whether I’m actually going to read it or finally let it go. I’m also debating giving GIFTED & TALENTED by Olivie Blake another chance. Y’all know I love Olivie Blake, but I tried this one before and just didn’t connect with it. But sometimes timing matters, so maybe this is the moment for a second chance? I’m also challenging myself to finally read an autobiography, and after recently watching Malcolm X, ASSATA is sitting right there on my shelves… so why not start there? And then we have THE MAN MADE OF SMOKE by Alex North. I love a thriller, but this one is specifically marketed as a serial killer thriller, which would be my first real experience with that type of thriller 👀 So let’s shop the shelves, cut down the physical TBR, figure out what’s actually worth reading, and build my late September + October TBR together! 📚 BOOKS MENTIONED: • Kindred by Octavia E.
