DIY PVC Whistle

Whistle signals are one of the most important communication methods on the railroad. They tell people to “lookout, a train is coming,” communicate with railroad workers about where the train is and what it is doing, communicate with passengers that the train is leaving the station, and much more. One of the best ways to learn what different signals mean is to practice them yourself. With this DIY PVC Whistle, you can practice making your own whistle signals. This project uses inexpensive materials and basic skills to build a simple whistle that you can blow on to produce whistle signals. We strongly encourage youths to involve their parents in this project. It's important to have an adult's guidance, especially when using tools such as saws and hammers.
