This week, I’m keeping things simple and staying close to home for some hyper-local autumn photography. Even though the peak vibrant yellows are starting to fade into muted grays and browns, there's still plenty of picturesque landscape to capture before the season fully shifts.
In this video, I walk through my thought process while setting up shots along the riverbank, dealing with tricky lighting and blown highlights, and experimenting with both horizontal and vertical panorama stitching (using the 70-200mm telephoto to catch full tree length across the water). I also bring out the drone to snag a few elevated overhead views of individual trees and river patterns.
A Quick Channel Update:
In this video, I chat a bit about supporting the channel. Rather than setting up tiered memberships, I’ve launched a Buy Me a Coffee page! If you ever want to support these photo walks, you can drop a tip there. As a thank-you, I’ll be uploading a downloadable high-res image from each week’s video for supporters to save and use.
If you feel like making use of that (and of course many thanks if you do!) visit: buymeacoffee.com/NHeazellPhoto
Don't forget to check out @chrisharveyphotography for a lot of really great photography content including the recent Hyper Localism episode.
Thanks as always for coming along on the walk! If you enjoyed the video or have any feedback on the edits, drop a comment below and consider subscribing for more photography vlogs.
