Attorney General says digital number plate contract is null and void

Attorney General Sam Mayanja has told the Physical Infrastructure Committee that the contract between the government and Joint Stock Company Global Security, the company producing digital number plates for crime tracking, is null and void because it contradicts existing Ugandan laws. Mayanja said the agreement unlawfully allows the private company to earn money from fines, which should be collected exclusively by the government.
