He believes the caravan guide has made a mistake. The guide offers no explanation. Days into the crossing, one of the walkers collapses beneath the heat. There is no vehicle, no nearby settlement and no strength left in his legs. The unloaded camel kneels beside him. Only then does the young caravaneer understand: the empty space was not wasted. It was prepared for the danger nobody could predict. AZALAI builds its rhythm around that lesson. Every two-bar guitar cycle leaves one final pulse open. A dry tehardent marks the caravan’s measured pace, while the lead guitar remains low until the empty camel saves the fallen traveller. The missing beat is what keeps the music alive.
