Tyreek Hill's jury sends out a second question, and it wants more on "extreme and outrageous conduct." Now the court has to decide how to answer it. This is the civil lawsuit Lakeeta "Keeta" Vaccaro Hill, the plaintiff, brought against NFL star Tyreek Hill. She says a series of incidents happened behind closed doors during their marriage. Tyreek Hill denies the allegations and points to the records made at the time. These are allegations, not findings. A Miami-Dade civil jury, with Judge Spencer Eig presiding, decides whether she proved them, and whether he has any liability. Its job is to weigh the account she gives now against the records made back then, and that weighing is what it is doing in this Part. By the evening of Day 6 the jury is out deliberating, and it has already sent one question. Now a second note comes out, and the court goes back on the record to take it. The plaintiff's side wants the jury told to rely on the law it already has. The defense side wants the instruction on extreme and outrageous conduct read to them. Page six is where the jury instructions define that phrase, and you will hear the definition read aloud in the courtroom. Watch where the two sides agree, and where they split, because how a question gets answered can matter as much as the answer. Here is what this stretch puts in question for me. A jury that asks the court for help is doing exactly what it should, and the court has to answer without steering it. None of this happens in front of the jurors. They never hear this debate; all they get is whatever goes back into the jury room. So how far can a judge go to help jurors who ask for help? Watch the judge think it through out loud, and watch the long quiet stretch where he writes at the bench while both sides wait. Then one practical question closes it out: how late will the court stay with this jury? --- WATCH WITH JUSTICE 0:00:00 What this video is, and a preview 0:00:19 to 0:00:38 - Video starts: Back on the record in deliberations: "The jury has a question." The judge: "Until they're done." --- COMPLETE CASE COVERAGE justiceisaprocess.com SUBSCRIBE for daily trial coverage and hit the notification bell so you never miss testimony.
