Dr. Usha Wagh worked as as Attending Anesthesiologist at several metropolitan teaching hospital within the National Health Service in the United Kingdom over a period of several years in 1970-80s. Following her return to India, she continued to work, both in the UK and Sweden, as a locum Attending Anesthesiologist. She was frequently called upon to give lectures and chair conferences in the field of Anesthesia. She is credited with several publications in the peer reviewed medical journals. Over the course of her long and accomplished career, she trained and oversaw numerous junior Anesthetists who went on to acquired enviable positions in India and abroad.
She was Chief of Anesthesiology at Jaslok Hospitall. She also worked as Visiting Anesthesiologist at Cumbala Hill Hospital. Her area of expertise was administering anesthesia for complex cardiothoracic surgery.
