Chateâu de Menthon-Saint-Bernard Annecy

Well, if you’re going to have a fairy-tale castle, this is pretty much what you’d want it to look like! 🏰❤️ Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard sits up above Lake Annecy, surrounded by trees, with towers and turrets sticking up everywhere. It honestly looks like something from a Disney film. And apparently there’s a reason for that! Walt Disney is said to have visited here in 1932 while spending time around Annecy, and the château is often linked to the inspiration for the castle in Sleeping Beauty. How much of that is fact and how much has become a lovely local story over the years, who knows 😂 — but when you actually look at the place, you can definitely see where the idea comes from. It’s just gorgeous. One of those places where you look up and think, “Yep… that’s a proper castle!” 🏰✨
