Seaboard Coast Line SD45 - Service in 2016

2016 saw the last of the Secret City Scenic excursion train in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. That last excursion took place on Memorial Day weekend in May and was pulled by Seaboard Coast Line SD45 number 2024 in preservation. The engine was cosmetically restored by contractors in Kansas City, MO. and lettered by volunteers at SARM. The engine is also used in revenue freight service on the Heritage Railroad. In this video, I filmed the SARM Secret City Scenic being brought to the plant for the last time to taken apart and put away. SCL 2024 did the honors this day. Some weeks later SCL 2024 was put into freight service pulling a hefty string of empty tank cars up the two percent grade into Blair, TN. in number 6 throttle notch. Enjoy!
