The opposition continues its aggressive stance against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls and the functioning of the Election Commission; following a lunch meeting of INDIA bloc MPs in Delhi, leaders launched a major protest campaign at Sansad Marg and Jantar Mantar. Led by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, opposition MPs staged protests and marches demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the scrapping of the SIR process, and a return to ballot paper-based elections. During the event, Rahul Gandhi waved a placard reading "Gyanesh, It's Done Bro! Time to Resign" and accused the Election Commission of concealing the truth from the nation and abetting vote theft. Despite heavy barricading, detentions of leaders by the Delhi Police, and the ongoing protests, Kharge made it clear that the opposition's agitation at Jantar Mantar and on the streets would continue unabated until their demands are met.
