🌷 BBC Radio Interview with Teresha Young | Dating & Attraction: Does Generosity Matter? 🌷
On Friday 25th September 2026, it was a pleasure to join Anna Cookson again on BBC Radio Kent as a Family & Relationship Expert, following research highlighted in The Times suggesting that generosity may be more attractive than looks or status, although giving too much can have the opposite effect 😬
Our conversation explored the qualities people look for in a potential partner, what contributes to long-term compatibility, and why the intention behind generosity can matter more than the amount somebody gives.
🔍 Some of the points we discussed included:
❤️ What it means to have the emotional presence, availability and capacity to participate in a relationship, rather than simply wanting one.
🔐 How emotional, relational, financial and spiritual safety can contribute to feeling secure in a relationship, and the importance of aligning our core values when considering compatibility.
🎁 Why generosity can be incredibly attractive, yet become a turn-off when it comes with strings attached.
🤝🏽 How understanding love languages can help us recognise the ways our partner wants to feel loved, appreciated and supported, rather than focusing solely on our own preferences and expectations.
🎙️ Catch the full conversation in this video.
💬 I'm curious... What qualities matter most to you when considering a potential partner? 🌷🙏🏽
