HOLANI'S END ZONE FUMBLE BECAME 7 POINTS — WAS THAT EVEN A PLAY? SEAHAWKS NEWS

George Holani fumbled in his own end zone late in the first half of Seattle's 32-29 loss to San Francisco, and the Seahawks' deficit jumped by seven points on that single play with no tackle, strip, or sack from the 49ers defense. That swing is not a coaching failure or a lucky bounce — it is the NFL's own fumble and recovery rule, which rules a touchdown for the defense any time it recovers a loose ball inside the offense's own end zone, a completely different outcome than the same fumble five yards further up the field. This video breaks down that rule against the actual math of Seattle's scoreline, reconstructs how an undrafted running back out of Boise State in 2023 ended up carrying this backfield into that exact spot, and lays out why Seattle's 12 giveaways in five games are a pattern the postgame comments from Mike Macdonald and Jaxon Smith-Njigba only partly explained. — SOURCES — sportrules.org, NFL Fumble and Recovery Rules (end zone recovery / touchdown rule, 2026): https://sportrules.org/american-footb... d3d4football.com, Football End Zone Fumble Rules Explained: https://d3d4football.com/football-end...
