THE 2022 CANYONS 100K

It was my first time running The Canyons 100K in 2022. It was my first time on the Western States trail. Heck, it was my first time in Auburn. A weekend of firsts, I suppose. Most importantly, it was my first ultra finish since January 2020; a period of time that held way more DNF's than I care to remember. I recently moved to Southern California and thought I'd take a crack at the notoriously challenging Canyons 100K. With almost 15,000 feet of elevation gain over 62 miles I knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park. I just didn't realize how much it would take from me. I've been ultrarunning for over a decade and that seems to surprise me with every race. It was a tough one but a Finish is a Finish, right?! This race was a qualifier for UTMB and Western States 100, and thankfully I earned my spot in each with a sub-19 hour finish. See you at UTMB in August 2023!
