An SD45?! In 2026?!

Railfanning Altoona presents some interesting challenges, but there are plenty of resources made available to at least know what is coming. The radio feed is wonderful, servicing much of the valley between Gallitzin and Tyrone, but it can get noisy. There are live cameras at the Tyrone depot to the east, as well as at Horseshoe Curve and Cresson to the west. These have live chats that often have highlights of recent trains. And whilst not live-updated, the great folks at PT242 (www.pt242.com) keep and maintain a log of recent train movements including symbol and locomotives assigned. Imagine my surprise when I noticed this classic unit coming down the grade in-trail?! I had to look it up (www.nsdash9.com) , I didn't realize NS still rostered SD45-2s. Even now, I'm not sure why but apparently there are six in total.
