🎵 About the Artist Arcansiel are an Italian progressive rock band formed in 1986 in the province of Alessandria by keyboardist Marco Galletti and drummer Gianni Lavagno. Their early work established them within the Italian neo-progressive scene, followed by Stillsearching (1990), Normality of Perversion (1994) and Swimming In The Sand (2004). After a twenty-year recording hiatus, the band returned with a substantially renewed lineup, with drummer Gianni Lavagno remaining the only founding member. 📀 About the Album Released on March 29, 2024 by Ma.Ra.Cash Records, Hard Times is Arcansiel's fifth studio album and their first new studio work in twenty years. The album contains just four extended compositions: Too Late (17:51), Puppets and Puppeteers (7:51), Heaven Is Not Here (11:22) and My Old Same Mistakes (7:27). The album takes its title from the difficult social, cultural and ethical conditions of contemporary life, using progressive rock itself as a metaphor for these “hard times.” Musically, Arcansiel combine melodic neo-prog with jazz-oriented passages, baroque touches and Canterbury influences.
