Your generosity shines like warm beams of light, constantly illuminating each step made in HKBU’s growth and transformation. In celebration of the University’s 70th anniversary, the Foundation is proud to present a series of donor stories that chronicle the profound bonds and significant contributions made by HKBU’s esteemed benefactors. The story of this issue is dedicated to the late Mr. Au Shue Hung and his family. In the 1970s, when Hong Kong Baptist College was a private institution beset by financial hardship, Mr. Au Shue Hung stepped forward with unconditional support, helping the College weather those difficult years. He subsequently funded various campus developments and other initiatives. Following Mr. Au’s passing, his wife, Mrs. Au Yeung King Fong, carried on his wishes and, through the Au Shue Hung Foundation, injected vital momentum into the institution’s quest for university status. This profound bond has flourished across generations. Mr. Au’s daughter, Ms. Irene Au, current Chairman of the Au Shue Hung Foundation, upholds the family’s philanthropic spirit and continues to support the University’s strategic development and growth. The Au family’s transgenerational devotion and steadfast support have become an indispensable chapter in HKBU’s history.
