We recently sat down with Kid Carson for what turned into one of our favourite conversations yet—and this time, we took things to another level. Instead of simply talking about hydration and magnesium, we conducted a blind Water Sommelier Test, tasting 10 different natural mineral waters from Europe. Every bottle was hidden behind a letter so no one knew what they were drinking. The result? Absolutely mind-blowing. Some waters were silky smooth. Some tasted creamy. Rich in naturally occurring minerals with a unique mineral profile developed over centuries. 🇨🇿 B – Magnesia One of Europe’s best-known magnesium-rich mineral waters. Naturally high in magnesium with a smooth, refreshing taste. 🇮🇹 C – San Benedetto (Italy) A light, refreshing Italian mineral water with a delicate mineral balance and exceptionally clean finish. 🇨🇿 D – Hanácká Kyselka A naturally sparkling Czech mineral water with balanced minerals and a crisp, refreshing character. 🇸🇰 E – Kláštorná Kalcia (Slovakia) A calcium-rich mineral water known for its fuller mouthfeel and balanced mineral composition. 🇨🇿 F – Mattoni One of the most iconic mineral waters in Central Europe. Naturally carbonated and rich in calcium and magnesium. 🇸🇰 G – Sulinka (Slovakia) A naturally mineral-rich water with elevated bicarbonates, creating a distinctive smooth and slightly salty taste. 🇨🇿 H – Šaratica More than just a mineral water, Šaratica has traditionally been enjoyed as a therapeutic mineral water because of its naturally high mineral content and long history of supporting digestive health. 🇨🇿 I – Vincentka Perhaps the boldest water of the tasting. Exceptionally rich in minerals with a distinctive salty, savoury flavour. Vincentka has been celebrated for generations for respiratory and digestive wellness. 🇨🇿 J – Korunní A refreshing natural mineral water with a lighter mineral profile and crisp finish. ⸻ 💧 Why Do They Taste So Different? Most people assume water has no flavour. That’s simply not true. Every natural mineral water travels through different underground rock formations, sometimes for hundreds or even thousands of years. Along that journey, it naturally absorbs minerals such as: Magnesium Calcium Bicarbonates Sodium Silica Potassium Sulphates Those minerals don’t just influence the nutritional value—they completely change the flavour, texture, mouthfeel and even the finish of the water.
