Becoming Changemakers for the Energy Transition | Youth4Capacity, TU Delft & ENCLUDE

How can young people become changemakers and help accelerate the energy transition? ⚡🌍 The energy transition brings complex challenges and opportunities for communities around the world. Young people can play an important role in driving change by building on their own capabilities, insights, and collective strengths. The Becoming Changemakers for the Energy Transition session, organized by the Youth4Capacity programme, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and the ENCLUDE project, introduced an innovative methodology based on Integrated Systems and Design Thinking. Led by Dr. BinBin Jiang Pearce, Assistant Professor of Transdisciplinary Design and Implementation at Delft University of Technology, the session drew on A Changemaker’s Guide to The Energy Transition, developed under the EU-funded ENCLUDE project. Through interactive exercises and a Q&A session, participants explored the fundamentals of design thinking and its application to systems transformation in the energy sector, learned how to approach complex challenges and formulate problem statements, and developed self- and collective efficacy to drive meaningful change. Participants also had the opportunity to engage with Dr. BinBin Jiang Pearce and explore how the methodology could be applied in their own communities.
