Justin Verlander burst into MLB in 2006 when he won AL Rookie of the Year and finished 7th in the Cy Young voting. He quickly rose to the top of Detroit's starting rotation when he was their opening day starter in 2008. 2011 was Verlander's career year. He finished the regular season with a 24-5 record, a 2.40 ERA, and 250 strikeouts. This won him the AL Cy Young, AL MVP, and the pitching triple crown. JV's power and command this year were the best we've ever seen out of him. His arsenal showcases an upper 90's fastball and a devastating 12-6 curveball to put hitters away. With his dominance he led Tigers to the postseason for the first time since Detroit won the AL Pennant in 2006.
