The changing climate and increasing human population mean that we need to accelerate the production of improved crop varieties. Advances in genomics and phenomics are helping to accelerate crop improvement, but the quantity and diversity of data being generated is vast and needs new methods for integrated analysis. Artificial intelligence (AI) approaches provide one solution to this analysis challenge. This webinar will provide an overview on recent advances in pangenomics and application of machine learning and deep learning for crop genomic and phenomic data analysis Who is this course for? This webinar is suitable for anyone interested in plant sciences, crop production and improvement, and application of machine learning in data analysis. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful. This event is part of a webinar series highlighting the current concepts and analytical methods in plant sciences applicable to research, data management, and crop improvement. To explore other topics from this series and registration details follow this link Plants: a data sciences perspective. Outcomes By the end of the webinar you will be able to: Identify the benefits and limitations of different pangenome construction methods Discover how AI can be applied to crop genomic and phenomic data This webinar was recorded on 12 April 2023. The slides from this webinar are available on the EMBL-EBI Training site: https://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/events...
