Why do you keep replaying conversations in your head—even when nothing new is happening? Maybe it’s a message with no reply. Something awkward you said. A decision you already made. Or one tiny moment your mind keeps analyzing as if one more replay will finally give you the answer. In this episode of Worth Knowing, we look at why useful problem-solving can turn into repetitive thinking, how uncertainty can keep some mental loops going, and why more thinking doesn’t always mean more information. You’ll also learn a simple way to check your own loop: Did the last few rounds of thinking give you new information, a clearer decision, or a next action—or just another possibility? Because a thought coming back doesn’t necessarily mean there’s more thinking left to do. Topics include overthinking, rumination, worry, repetitive negative thinking, intolerance of uncertainty, and creating distance from recurring thoughts. This video is for education only. Ordinary overthinking is not automatically OCD, depression, an anxiety disorder, trauma, or any other diagnosis. If repetitive thoughts are significantly disrupting your sleep, work, relationships, or daily life, consider seeking support from a qualified professional.
