Breaking the Loop: How To Finish Tracks in Ableton Live

Breaking the loop is the real skill. I show the system I use to go from an endless jam in Session View to a finished track in about 20 minutes, no arrangement view needed. I walk through how I set up drums, bass and fill elements in Session View, check which sounds are fighting each other in the mix, and build a vertical layout where muting and unmuting clips becomes the actual arrangement. Then I jam it live, hit record and mirror the structure so the mix stays balanced from the first take.
