Remix - Mikey Dread - Rub a Dub & Rub A Dub Version (TYR Remix 014 - Tuffies -2026)

Mikey Dread - Rub a Dub & Rub A Dub Version (TYR Remix 014 - Tuffies -2026) We are proud to present TYR 014, the 14th release in our Tuffies Yard Remixes series — a very special tribute to one of my all-time favorite artists, the legendary Michael Campbell aka Mikey Dread “The Original Dread at the Controls.” Mikey Dread was far more than a singer: he was a pioneering broadcaster, producer, engineer and one of the most distinctive voices in Jamaican reggae. His groundbreaking “Dread at the Controls” radio program helped put roots reggae at the center of Jamaican broadcasting, while his productions and dub work became an essential part of reggae history. “Rub A Dub” is one of those classic Mikey Dread cuts, originally associated with the Roots Radics / Channel One sound and later featured on Best Sellers II. For this Tuffies Yard version, the rhythm has been completely rebuilt in my studio, together with Vibes Generator and the Tuffies Yard Syndicate, keeping the spirit and rub-a-dub feel of the original while giving it our own Tuffies Yard treatment. This is not an attempt to replace the original — just a humble version and a musical tribute to a true Jamaican legend, whose influence continues to inspire us.
