Is This The Best Value Super Tele Ever Made? - Eart TL-380 That’s the question we are going to explore in this video. Whenever you buy a budget guitar online, the setup is a gamble. Let's check how this guitar came straight out of the box in this video. Customer Service In these days of Telephone trees and AI answered emails and phones, I’d like to throw a big shout out and thank you to Eart. Although I bought this guitar with my own money, I will add that Eart’s customer service is top notch. In my excitement of ordering this guitar, I initially put a wrong digit in the address box when ordering mine and didn't discover it until the day of delivery from UPS. I sent out an email to Eart expecting that my delivery would now be held back or even sent back because of my mistake but Eart to the rescue. They not only answered my email right away but they also informed UPS of the mistake and within an hour had put my shipment back on track to get the guitar to me as soon as possible and a couple days later it arrived. Geek Stuff The Fretwork and Neck Ergonomics Stainless steel frets. A multi-radius roasted flamed maple neck. Book-matched mahogany body with deep comfort carves. Amazing paint and clear coat work, absolutely stunning and not a scratch or mar on it. The TL-380 features 22 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets. Not only will these virtually never wear down, but they feature hand-polished, rounded ball edges. There is no sharp fret sprout here. It’s smoother than guitars I’ve bought costing triple the price. The neck itself is roasted Canadian maple. Roasting removes moisture, making the wood incredibly stable against climate shifts. The back of the neck in a nice and smooth satin finish which I prefer and it feels broken in, right out of the box. The 4 bolt Neck has ferrules verses a plate It features a compound radius shifting from 9.5 inches near the nut for comfortable chording, up to 14 inches at the higher frets for effortless, choke-free string bends. The neck profile also shifts from a thick C to a slim U shape as you move up the neck. Rolled fretboard edges: gives you that broken in feeling The Body and Hardware The TL-380 features deep ergonomic tummy cuts and forearm carves and even a carve where the neck meets the body on the high E side for better reach in the higher register. The body is a two-piece book-matched set made of mahogany. Traditional Tele’s are flat slabs It hugs your body perfectly whether you are sitting or standing. For hardware, we have a custom 2-point synchronized tremolo system for smooth vibrato of which I will set up later A real natural bone nut for great resonance, and it’s cut really well and measures 42.4mm or 1.66 inches High-ratio 21:1 tuning machines that feel smooth, tight and precise. The action on the low E is 0.040 and the – Hi E is 0.30 My neck radius comes in dead flat It features a dual action truss rod and comes with it’s own tool to adjust it at the base of the neck The Electronics Layout A set of proprietary Eart Custom HBC Humbuckers. A master volume, a master tone, a traditional 3-way blade selector, and this little bonus item right here: A mini coil-split toggle switch. This completely changes the identity of the guitar, giving us six distinct wiring combinations.
