The waterfall trail leads to viewing points and brings you close to the spray. It's a truly impressive natural spectacle – and one you can experience up close: the trail follows the course of the Krimml Waterfalls and links several viewpoints. From the first panoramic spot to the top, the water is constantly changing shape. Each section of the trail reveals a different interplay between water and rock. The Krimml Waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park are the highest waterfalls in Europe. At times, the water rushes down the rock in narrow streams. At others, it fans out or briefly disappears between the rock layers before reappearing with full force. Information boards along the trail explain how the waterfalls were formed, the geological features of the landscape and the flora and fauna of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
