Welcome to Day 15 of my Low Level Design, System Design & DSA journey!
After spending the last few sessions designing and implementing real-world systems using Java, today we're switching gears to practice DSA and research an upcoming backend engineering project.
I'm planning to build a production-oriented backend system from scratch, focusing on real-world engineering challenges, scalability, reliability, and distributed systems concepts.
The goal is simple:
Learn → Research → Design → Build → Improve → Stay Consistent.

DAY 15 — DSA PRACTICE + BACKEND PROJECT RESEARCH
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
PART 1 — LEETCODE & CSES PROBLEM SOLVING
In the first part of today's livestream, we'll practice Data Structures and Algorithms problems from LeetCode and CSES.
Topics we'll focus on:
• Solving LeetCode problems and CSES challenges
• Understanding problem statements and constraints
• Identifying optimal algorithms and data structures
• Practicing Dynamic Programming and other DSA patterns
• Discussing brute-force and optimized approaches
• Analyzing time and space complexity
• Debugging solutions and handling edge cases
• Improving problem-solving skills for coding interviews
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
PART 2 — RESEARCHING MY NEXT BACKEND PROJECT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I'm planning to start building a production-oriented Webhook Delivery Platform that explores real-world backend engineering and distributed systems challenges.
Before jumping into implementation, I want to understand the problem, research existing solutions, and explore different architectural approaches.
Topics we'll explore:
• Understanding the project idea and real-world use cases
• Researching existing platforms and similar open-source projects
• Identifying functional and non-functional requirements
• Understanding webhook delivery and event-driven architectures
• Exploring message queues and background job processing
• Understanding retry mechanisms and exponential backoff
• Discussing at-least-once delivery and idempotency
• Handling failures, duplicate events, and unavailable endpoints
• Exploring PostgreSQL, Redis, and other backend technologies
• Understanding scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance
• Planning the initial system architecture and MVP
The goal is not just to build another CRUD application but to understand how real-world backend systems handle reliability, failures, concurrency, and scale.

WHY THIS SERIES?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I'm documenting my software engineering learning journey through consistent live coding and practical problem-solving sessions.
The series focuses on:
• Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA)
• Low Level Design (LLD)
• High Level System Design (HLD)
• Backend Development
• Java, Python, and Software Engineering
• Distributed Systems and Scalable Architecture
• Real-world Projects and Design Patterns
• Software Engineering Interview Preparation
This is Day 15 of the journey!
Today is about balancing algorithmic problem-solving with research and preparation for a larger backend engineering project.
Learn by solving problems, understanding systems, building projects, and improving one day at a time.
If you're preparing for Software Engineering interviews, learning backend development, or interested in System Design and Distributed Systems, join the live stream and learn along!
