The Restoration was made during an event that is simply known as the Calamity[2]. During the events of said calamity, the world would be polluted and the Executioners would start to appear around the world, bringing great suffering to many citizens of the world. Some organizations during the Calamity would fall, such as the Diamond Cutters[3]. Some organizations, like The Restoration, or G.U.N[4], would remain. Many notable landmarks would be abandoned, such as Green Hill Zone or Death Egg. People who initially survived would the Calamity would flee underground, making underground bases and settlements that would protect them from getting hunted by the Executioners.
