This is a lovely winding trail taking you along the edge of the reservoir, across the moorlands, and through the woodlands with views over the water, scenic paths, and chances to spot local wildlife. The trail takes in sections of rough moorland and waterside stretches where the path is indistinct at times. There are marker posts, but care is still needed with navigation. There are also river crossings where bridges aren't always present, so please take care and wear appropriate waterproof footwear. Still Northumberland captures landscapes as they are experienced, on that day, in that weather, and as they are walked. No talking. No music. Just natural sound.
