About Ustad Sabir Khan Ustad Sabir khan is one of the most celebrated Indian Classical Musician of all time. He is the present Khalifa and the 33rd Descendant of the unbroken lineage of "Farukhabad Gharana" whose legacy goes back to 1132AD, which is close to 900 yrs. He is the son and grandson of the Legendary Tabla Maestros Ustad Karamatullah Khan (father) and Ustad Masit Khan (grandfather).Ustad Masit khansaheb was Ustad Karamatullah Khan saheb are very much responsible for establishing the classical music circuit in West Bengal. Ustad Sabir khansaheb started learning tabla at a very tender age of 2 and his first performance at the age 9 in front of 10,000 Hindustani Classical Music Connoisseur not only stole hearts of the audience present there but has established his name firmly among the heart of Classical Music lover all over the globe. Ustad ji has been bestowed with the title of the “Best Tabla player “by then President of United States of America , Mr Bill Clinton. Ustad ji has been awarded the prestigious sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2012 . He has also been awarded with the " Bharat Nirman" Award in 2011.He was awarded the prestigious " Banga Bhushan " by our present Chief Minister Smt. Mamta Bannerjee in 2014. He holds the record of being the youngest top graded artist of both AIR and Doordarshan .
