As I mentioned before, I was gonna get the rush hour patterns on the R68 (D) Train one more time and now this will be the penultimate ride that I ever take on the R68 (D) Train here on the channel. It was such a smooth ride down in the wake of another World Cup day. The day was jampacked with so much activity throughout the city and I did anticipate the R62 (1) Train going into service because extra service was needed for the World Cup. However, it happened to run after the match was over at New York/New Jersey Stadium and by that time, I was going to Coney Island with my friend GoldenGus. To no surprise, the R160 (Q) Train was running two roundtrips during the midday to provide additional service for the World Cup, but both attempts were a disaster because there was a train that had its brakes activated at Prospect Park and then another incident with switch inspection occurring at Atlantic Av-Barclays Center which disrupted everything. (D) and (N) Trains got sent local in that stretch and it caused a huge mess that would eventually be cleared just before I took my final ride on the R68 (D) Train. Don’t worry guys, I am still trying very hard to get my first R160 (Q) Train roundtrip since the swap has happened. As I was in prime position to have a memorable weekend with my friends, I hope you viewers enjoy this AM Rush Hour odyssey through The Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn.
