I use nothing but plugs to fish the king salmon. I find that the plugs allow the salmon to give my a better fight. I used to use flashers but found the flasher put more drag on the fish not allowing the fish to fight at the end of the rod. My favorite plug for Winter spring are the 602 and the 403 plugs. We managed to bring three legal chinook in on this trip. It was caught on a 5" 404 UV plug and the 6” - 403 plug.
