Friendship, connection and Shared Lives in Rotherham

In this film, we hear how Shared Lives has supported Catherine to build the life she wants, with friendships, new experiences and meaningful connections. We also visit a Shared Lives coffee morning in Rotherham, where people come together to catch up, make friends and enjoy spending time together. Shared Lives brings people who need support together with approved Shared Lives carers, who welcome them into their homes and lives. It's about building relationships, enjoying everyday experiences and supporting people to live the lives they choose. This film is one of five created to celebrate Shared Lives across South Yorkshire, as part of a programme supported by the Department of Health and Social Care's Accelerating Reform Fund. The programme brought together Shared Lives schemes in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, with strategic advice and support from Shared Lives Plus, to help more people benefit from Shared Lives.
