Kendallville is a city in Wayne Township, Noble County in Indiana. Kendallville was laid out in 1849. The city was named for Amos Kendal, the 8th. United States Postmaster General. A post office has been in operation at Kendallville since 1837. Downtown Kendallville was entered into the Indiana Register of Historic Sites and Structures on October 29, 2003. Then in December of that same year, the area was declared an Historic District by the National Register of Historic Places. The downtown is quit nice. I really enjoyed seeing all the different styles of architect. The downtown architectural styles are Italianate, Queen Anne, Romanesque, Classical Revival. The day I visited the downtown it was sort of quiet, due to a major holiday, a lot of the shops were closed. Kendallville is known for there Apple Festival around October.
