Christopher Knight explores the limits of religious language and how critical realism might help theology reconsider its traditional models. Drawing on medieval philosophy, he argues that understanding God as beyond time may be more illuminating than treating God as another being within the world. 0:00 The Limits of Understanding God 1:16 God as Person or Ground of Being 2:44 Belief Beyond Rational Arguments 3:42 Critical Realism and Theological Understanding 5:57 The Medieval Concept of a Timeless God Christopher Knight is an Orthodox priest and former Executive Secretary of the International Society for Science and Religion.
