WITE2 PBEM - T68 - The sacrifice of the 56th Army

The sudden liberation of Maikop and the appearance of the Soviet cavalry at the gates of Krasnodar seems to have prompted the Axis High Command to interrupt its push towards the oilfields of Baku to liberate its troops isolated in Astrakhan. For sure, the Soviet 56th Army will be destroyed in the process but every action that delays the German advance towards Baku is more than welcome. Meanwhile, Soviet intelligence further detected the arrival of some enemy infantry divisions towards the sector of held by the North Caucasus Front. The race against time has begun!
