Mysterious Raba Mountain Peak | A Historic Trek Through the Hidden Mountains | KS25 Our journey into the mountains began from Parung Langbang Bat Cave, taking us through remote villages, forests, waterfalls, historic locations and some of the most beautiful landscapes we encountered along the way. We first reached Nyobia Village, where we waited for a clear view of the mysterious Raba Mountain Peak. Even after waking early and waiting until almost noon, the mountain remained hidden behind the clouds—making the experience even more mysterious. From there, our journey continued towards Tedong Village and then Sepaha Village. At Sepaha, we spent time interacting with the village children and local people while documenting village life. We also captured the Kolong Waterfall and spectacular aerial views of the surrounding area with our drone. The following morning, the real trekking journey began. Moving through Langrum Village and deeper into the forest, we encountered beautiful wild flowers, native plants, ferns and vegetation connected with the traditional life of local communities. Some plants along the trail reminded us of earlier generations, when locally available forest resources formed an important part of everyday food and survival. As the trek became more demanding, we stopped to rest, recover our breath and capture the vast landscape from the air before continuing towards our main objective. After approximately five hours of trekking, we finally reached and successfully summited the peak. The destination also carried an important historical story for us. According to the information shared during our expedition, the location is associated with a 1971 topographical survey/mapping exercise, when a team reportedly cleared part of the forest at the site for survey work. Visiting this historic location added another dimension to the expedition beyond adventure and scenery. At the summit, our team marked the successful completion of the trek, installed our plaque, documented the moment and finally began our return journey. This expedition was not simply about reaching a peak. It was about remote villages, local memories, traditional knowledge, unexplored landscapes, history, teamwork and the experience of travelling through a part of Arunachal Pradesh that remains largely unseen by the outside world. Through KS25, we are trying to document these journeys as naturally and respectfully as possible and bring the hidden beauty, stories and adventure of our region to a wider audience.
