Kalu Waterfall

Kalu Waterfall is a massive 1,200-foot, five-tiered seasonal cascade located in "God's Valley" near Malshej Ghat in Maharashtra, India. The Illusion: Intense monsoon winds (often exceeding 75 km/h) hit the sheer cliffs of the Western Ghats and create strong upward drafts. The Location: While often associated with the area near Kalu Waterfall and Naneghat in Maharashtra, it is technically a nearby seasonal stream being forced upward rather than the massive 1,200-foot Kalu cascade itself. Best Time to Visit: Peak monsoon season between June and September, when rain and wind velocities are highest.
