🚨 MANIPUR BREAKING UPDATE | 10 OCTOBER 2026 PONGRINGLONG BURNED: WHERE IS THE GOVERNMENT? On 10 October 2026, Pongringlong (Charoipandongba), a Zeliangrong Rongmei Naga village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district, came under an armed attack. According to reports, 10 houses were reduced to ashes, while seven other structures were damaged, destroying essential belongings, food stocks and the livelihoods of affected families. The attackers were alleged to be armed Kuki militants. The allegations require a thorough and impartial investigation. The attack came amid a wider escalation of violence across Manipur, with civilians killed, homes burned and communities living under persistent fear. How many more innocent lives must be lost? How many more homes must be reduced to ashes before the government takes decisive action? Despite repeated reports of attacks on civilians and villages, the public is increasingly questioning the effectiveness of the state’s response and the apparent failure to ensure adequate protection for vulnerable communities. Is the government’s silence and inaction becoming an indirect declaration of civil war in Manipur? While government inaction does not legally constitute a declaration of civil war, the question reflects the growing anguish of people who feel abandoned and unprotected in their own homeland. The Government of Manipur and the Government of India must act urgently to protect civilians, deploy adequate security in vulnerable areas, conduct impartial investigations, bring the perpetrators to justice and provide relief and rehabilitation to affected families. Peace cannot be restored through silence. Normalcy cannot be imposed while innocent civilians continue to die and homes continue to burn. The people of Manipur deserve security, justice and accountability—not merely assurances of peace. ZNN | Zeliangrong News Network News that Connects.
