Using the Interpersonal Circumplex to Understand Health Disparities

SITAR 2026 Q3 Meeting Speaker: Dr. Jenny Cundiff Description: Dr. Cundiff discusses how interpersonal theory and methods may help us better understand common and distinct causes of health disparities. She will present recent findings from the lab examining the interpersonal profile of other’s behavior associated with multiple measures of discrimination and microaggressions as well as work examining whether socioeconomic status and racial identity in the US are associated with differential treatment from others or differential treatment of the self (self-talk) as measured by the IPC.
