1,400 km. 25,000 metres of climbing. Four countries. One hell of an adventure. The Bohemian Border Bash Race is an ultra-distance bikepacking challenge following the ancient borders of Bohemia through remote forests, forgotten roads, steep climbs and some seriously questionable trails. In 2026, my friend Vadim and I took on the challenge as a pair. We rode through the Czech borderlands, crossed into Germany, Austria and Poland, encountered wildlife, battled difficult terrain and discovered that sometimes the route doesn't really want you to ride your bike. From beautiful gravel roads to absurd hike-a-bike sections, from peaceful landscapes to cold, darkness and heavy rain — this was an adventure that tested more than just our legs. Our plan was to complete the entire route. We made it to CP6, covering 1,000 km and 17,000 metres of climbing, before deciding to stop. Not the finish we had hoped for, but a journey full of experiences, lessons and memories that will stay with us. This is the story of our Bohemian Border Bash Race 2026. --- 🚴 *The ride* Event: Bohemian Border Bash Race 2026 Planned distance: approximately 1,400 km Planned elevation: approximately 25,000 m Completed: 1,000 km / 17,000 m elevation Result: DNF at CP6 Riding as a pair 📍 Follow my rides on Strava:   / strava   🎥 More bikepacking, gravel and ultra-distance adventures: Andor Biking If you enjoy honest stories about long-distance cycling, wild places and the adventures that don't always go according to plan, consider subscribing.
