Niagara South Hospital Construction October 2026 update video - Aerial view

Aerial drone fly‑around of the new South Niagara Hospital in Niagara Falls, showing the latest construction progress as of fall 2026. This is part of my ongoing series documenting the hospital from day one of construction through to opening. Project status & key updates Construction began in July 2023 after the official groundbreaking, with an expected five‑year build and a planned opening in summer 2028. The 12‑storey, 1.3‑million‑square‑foot hospital is now fully “topped off,” with the final structural beam raised and the mechanical penthouse enclosed. Exterior work is in the final stages: roofing, windows, precast panels and curtain wall systems are nearing completion, with the building expected to be fully watertight by the end of summer 2026. Interior construction is well underway across multiple floors, including framing, drywall, and mechanical/electrical rough‑ins on the lower levels. The project remains on time and on budget, with more than 2.6 million of the roughly 4 million total labour hours already completed and over 1,200 workers on site daily. Once open in 2028, the new South Niagara Hospital will consolidate and expand acute care services for the region as part of Niagara Health’s connected care system. About this video I’ve been capturing regular aerial and ground‑level updates since construction started, so you can see how the site has evolved from excavation to a full high‑rise hospital. This fly‑around highlights the current state of the structure, exterior cladding, and surrounding site work. If you’ve followed this build from the beginning, let me know in the comments what change stands out most compared to the early footage.
