Day 4 – Beauvais to Paris This was the day we had all been waiting for, our final ride into Paris and the grand finish of our Pedal to Paris challenge. We left Beauvais in the morning, knowing that we had 63 miles ahead of us before reaching our final destination. As we set off in our speed groups, there was a real sense of excitement and achievement among everyone. After everything we had already ridden, we knew that Paris was now within reach. We made our way through the French countryside and into the outskirts of Paris, taking in the changing scenery as we got closer to the heart of the city. The atmosphere grew more exciting with every mile, and the thought of crossing the finish line kept us motivated. Then, after all the training, preparation and miles we had covered from London, the moment finally arrived. We rode into Paris and towards the Arc de Triomphe, where we celebrated our grand finish. Seeing the Arc de Triomphe ahead of us was an incredible feeling and a moment I will never forget. Crossing the finish line was emotional. I felt an enormous sense of pride and achievement, not only for completing the 300 mile journey from London to Paris, but also for sharing the experience with everyone who had taken on the challenge alongside me. But this journey was about much more than simply completing 300 miles. The event was organised by the Royal British Legion to raise money and provide vital support for the Armed Forces community and their families. Knowing that every mile we cycled was helping to support such an important cause made the challenge even more meaningful. Every bit of support and every donation can make a real difference to the lives of those who have served, those currently serving, and their families. For some, this support can be life changing and in certain circumstances, even life saving.
