Meet the Instructors: NCTI, NTRC Fibre Optics Technician Training

Discover more about the Fibre Optics Technician – Outside Plant training programme, a collaborative initiative between the SVG National Centre of Technological Innovation (NCTI) and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC). In this interview, we speak with Mr. Anselm Barrett, Executive Director and Head Instructor, and Ms. Chrystal Shepherd, Director of General Communications & Networking Services (GCNS), about the training programme, the importance of fibre optic technology, and the value of equipping individuals with specialised technical skills. The programme brought together 23 participants for four weeks of online instruction, followed by a week of hands-on practical training at the NCTI office in Kingstown. Participants gained valuable knowledge and practical experience in fibre optics, a technology that plays a vital role in modern telecommunications and digital connectivity. Hear from the training leaders as they share insights into the programme and the importance of developing technical capacity in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the wider region. #NCTI #svg #stvincentandthegrenadines #fibreoptics #fibreopticstraining #interview
