We turned the famous Franconia Ridge Loop into a two-day backpacking trip through New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
Starting from the Old Bridle Path trailhead, we climbed Falling Waters Trail, passed the waterfalls, and continued toward Liberty Spring for the night. On Day 2, we crossed Franconia Ridge before descending via Greenleaf Trail and Old Bridle Path.
Franconia Ridge is commonly done as a long day hike, but stretching the route into an overnight gave us more time to enjoy the waterfalls, alpine terrain, and some of the best views in the White Mountains.
