Justin started collecting sports cards as a kid and built this collection over decades — with a major focus on the legendary 1996 NBA rookie class. Kobe Bryant. Allen Iverson. Steve Nash. And A LOT of duplicates. But the centerpiece might be an incredible early Kobe Bryant on-card autograph numbered to just 300 — one of Kobe's earliest signed cards and a card that's also heavily counterfeited. We also uncover: 🏀 Rare Kobe Bryant rookie cards and autographs 🔥 Nearly complete 1996 SkyBox Autographics Basketball set 🐐 Michael Jordan cards and memorabilia ⚡ Allen Iverson and Steve Nash rookie collections 🏁 Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr. & Jimmie Johnson NASCAR autographs ⚾ Baseball rookies, autographs and vintage sports cards 📦 Thousands of bulk cards accumulated over decades Justin believes the entire sports card collection is worth around $20,000. The problem? Owning hundreds of copies of the same rookie card doesn't necessarily mean you can sell hundreds of copies at full market value. We break down the difference between **sports card value and sports card liquidity**, negotiate the collection, and eventually have to decide what we're actually willing to pay. This episode is a perfect look at buying and selling sports cards, valuing large collections, 1990s basketball cards, card investing, sports card liquidity and what really happens when a collector decides it's finally time to sell. And yes... somehow banana pudding and a Rubik's Cube become part of the negotiation. 😂 If you enjoy sports card collecting, buying collections, vintage cards, Kobe Bryant cards, Michael Jordan cards, basketball cards, baseball cards, card investing and the stories behind collections — SUBSCRIBE to Chasing Cardboard.
