Want to Learn Latin? Start Here

Want to learn Latin, but have no idea where to begin? I get this question all the time, and unfortunately the answer is a little more complicated than “just buy this one textbook.” In this video, I share the advice I would give someone who is completely new to Latin, including how to think about your goals, which books and resources I recommend, and some strategies that can make your studies more effective. Latin is a big language with an enormous literature and a lifetime’s worth of things to discover. You do not need to know exactly where the journey will take you before you begin, but having the right tools and expectations can make the beginning much easier.
